In less than two weeks, silver screen stars accompanied by musicians and writers will flock to Toronto to visit a mecca of independent cinema and one of the most exciting events in the city, the 36th Toronto International Film Festival, taking place from the 8th to the 18th of September. The official film schedule and programme book were released on the 23rd of August, and it seems that just like every year, movie and culture lovers have a lot to look forward to.
Getting over the hurdle
The list of confirmed guests spans from respected directors like Francis Ford Coppola and heaps of A-list film stars like George Clooney and Rachel Weisz to star musician Neil Young and legendary band U2. The literature world will be represented by appraised author Salman Rushdie, who will show up to promote an upcoming film adaptation of his famous book Midnight’s Children.
