Veggielicious Poster
From April 9th to 24th, the city will be transformed into a vegan paradise. For the first year running, Veggielicious will offer up prix fixe menus in restaurants across Toronto and in Niagara.
In honour of Earth Day, April 22, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian restaurants will challenge Torontonians to go without meat, dairy, and eggs. The 25 restaurants and bakeries are scattered throughout the city, and include favourite vegetarian chain Fresh as well as Toronto pizza chain Magic Oven, favoured by vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
Getting over the hurdle
Highlights of Veggielicious, presented by the Toronto Vegetarian Association, include the Veggie Challenge (in which participants will give up meat for one week), and a prize draw that will take place on the last day of the festival. Prize entries will be based on online promotion of the event, and entries can be tweets or Facebook status posts about Veggielicious.
For challenge and prize details, as well as a list of participating restaurants and their menus, please see the official website.
