Still haven’t got a clue where to take your kids or what to do with them during March Break? Before they drive you crazy at home, here are some great activities right in Toronto that are sure to be fun and educational for the little ones.
Getting over the hurdle
NFB Mediatheque: This March Break, Kids Make History!
The Mediatheque welcomes families to participate in half-day animation workshops, starting at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily during March Break week. Each day, the workshop focuses on a historical period and geographic region, from ancient Egypt, Jurassic, Mayan, to ancient China and medieval times. Kids get a chance to learn about history, and then learn how to animate their own film, from sand animation, 2-D animation, 3-D clay, to pixilation. Animation workshops in French are also offered on March 12, March 15 and March 19 at 1 p.m.

Wizard World: Indoor Family Fun Park
There’s much to see and do at Wizard World, from magic shows by Evans & Evans, the Birds of Prey show, the ever-popular petting zoo, and the Wizards Fun in 3-D maze, to carnival rides, fairground games, and arts & crafts. Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., expect big crowds and a long fun stay at Wizard World.

Royal Ontario Museum: Dive into March Break at the ROM
The theme for ROM’s March Break activities is water, with exhibitions designed to show families how precious this natural resource is. The main
ROM Water
event is Water: The Exhibition, an impressive multimedia display that combines live plants and animals, interactive setups, and creative installations to illustrate human’s usage of water through the centuries, around the world, and our current need to conserve and use water wisely.

Solar Stage Children’s Theatre: More Marvellous Munsch
For ages 3-10, and especially for fans of Robert Munsch, Solar Stage presents a one-hour play based on Down the Drain, No Clean Clothes, Class Clown and Stephanie's Ponytail. About half the shows are currently sold out, so if you have some Munsch fans in the house, get your tickets now to this sure-to-be zany and hilarious show!
